The end of the season is the beginning of the next.
Although the beginning of the season was not blessed with a lot of snow, we still managed to get some fantastic preparation in our training areas of Resterhohe…etc.
Season Update:
Abi Bruce - after joining us 3 years ago on our “Return to Snow” post injury programme, this season saw Abi create a lot of opportunities for herself. Having completely deconstructed and rebuilt her skiing technique we are beginning to see glimpses of her true potential with podiums and results. She has dropped her ranking year on year and has everything to work for - we know there will be much success ahead.
Mao Nakazawa - representing the Asian part of the academy, Mao came to Europe and worked hard to prepare for the season ahead. She achieved success back in Japan with a win and 2nd place in quick succession followed by a FEC podium dropping her ranking and demonstrating her improvement. Thank you to Satoshi Kudo, our assistant coach in Asia.
Sanne van Wellie - joining us from Switzerland, this young racer improved both her slalom and giant slalom rankings by the end of the season.
Moving Forward
Now we have a well earned short recovery time before preparation begins for the next season in May. We welcome new applicants for our full time programme and look forward to improving skills and preparing our athletes to be in top physical condition for the season ahead. Our athletes will compete in Europe in FIS races and also in Europa Cup races where appropriate.
